The Jewellery Years

My Father was Wallis Power so 'Exquisite' was always there right from the start. My involvement within the company was total until I left in 1976 . Studied at Birmingham Jewellery College prior to serving my aprenticeship in the factory before spending time on the road learning how to sell. Later I was asked to manage and develop the Mirella Gift Dept before becoming involved in the Jewellery design & setting up our own design department.

I later became sales director. Earliest memories are visiting the Great Hampton Street factory with Dad & trips to Lode Lane with him to see the building of the new factory. The purpose of this site is to record the post war development particularly from the 1950's to the late 1970's - 'The Jewellery Years'. - Look forward to your contributions.

Hi Trevor - could you please contact me. I am seeking to clear copyright for a purple chrysanthemum brooch, made by Exquisite Jewellery around 1970. Thanks

Hi Trevor.
Browsing this site has brought back many memories for me. I'm sure you will recall my father Derek who worked with you for many years up until his retirements in 1987. He spent his final years back in the Midlands living close to me in South Leicestershire. My mother recently found some promotional Exquisite playing card from the 1960's that prompted a nostalgic discussion.
